UPDATE ON ABRSM PRACTICAL AND THEORY EXAMS

The Kenya Conservatoire of Music would like to thank all applicants who registered for the ABRSM 2020 practical exam session and for being patient.

Due to the effect that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on exam operations globally, ABRSM has postponed all practical and theory exams until 2021. We are aware that this decision has a significant impact on all candidates who were preparing for their exams this year.

Payment made for this year’s exam will be transferred to the next year. Candidates who will be eligible to move on to the next grade will only need to top up the difference in grade, but that should be decided upon by their respective teachers.

The current piano syllabus 2019-2020 will still be applicable in 2021, this means that candidates can choose between the 2019-2020 syllabus and the 2021-2022 syllabus.

Concerning theory exams, ABRSM has decided to roll out online exams for grade 1 to 5 in 2021. More information will be communicated in due course.

Thank you for bearing with us, we encourage all candidates to continue with their practice.

Please keep safe, we look forward to seeing you very soon.

With best wishes
